Two years before his death John Ambrose Negroponte went to court in Manchester to update an Indenture of Settlement, dated 31 Dec 1880, between him and Themistocles Pandia Anthony Petrocokino (his future father-in-law), Esmeralda Petrocokino (his future wife) and Andrea Pandia Scaramanga concerning £10,000 to be lent to his firm, Messrs A. J A Negroponte arrived Bombay from London aboard Sutlej 8 Nov 1888 and was among the passengers who signed a letter about the voyage, Times of India, 4 Dec 1888.
J A Negroponte departed Bombay on Oriental, 7 Feb 1890, for Brindisi [Italy].
