    Andre de Magnin referred to himself as the Count de Magnin, as did his son, Paul, whose wife called herself the Countess de Magnin. Such a title apparently did not survive the French Revolution. A search of the French national library newspaper archives finds no such personage, including in obituaries of the de Magnin family in Ardèche.
