In 1927 Augustus Synadinos, director of Choremis-Benakis Company, was chairman of the board of the "Chiot Brotherhood" of Alexandria, a society founded in March 1909, the object of which was "moral and material mutual help" as well as raising funds for philanthropy projects on the home island.
