Generation: 4

  1. 12.  Jean (Michael) Agelasto Descendancy chart to this point (4.Michael3, 2.Aglaļa2, 1.Ioannis1) was born on 06 Sep 1907 in Constantinople/Istanbul Turkey; died on 15 Jun 1925 in Athens, Attica, Greece; was buried in St John Cemetery, Chios, Greece.

    Notes:

John (Michael) was Michael John's first son, his crown-prince, and was expected to succeed him in his business, so he accompanied his father on several trips. They had been in Odessa together and were on the way back to Athens by train, when John Michael suddenly fell ill with peritonitis and died before they even reached Athens. The loss of his 18-year-old son broke Michael John“s heart and he lived for only two more years, dying in 1927, according to Constantine Papaioannou, John Michael's grandson.

  2. 13.  Alexander (Michael) Agelasto Descendancy chart to this point (4.Michael3, 2.Aglaļa2, 1.Ioannis1) was born on 12 Aug 1909 in Broussa, Turkey; died before 2000 in Athens, Attica, Greece.

    Notes:

His sister married his wife's brother.

After the end of WWII Alexander Agelasto and John Papaioannou, brothers-in-law, were in the glass business, Papaioannou-Agelastos Glass (begun in 1933), providing the glass for the Athens airport. The company's founders/heirs sold their interest in the company in 1986. According to the Athens phone directory (2007), the glass company is still in business under its founder“s name: 'Alexandros M. Agelastos'.

During WWII he was in the RAF. At one point he had to buy the clothes off a shepherd to survive.

He and his wife, who was physically disabled, could not have children. They wanted to raise their nephew, but John Papaioannou refused.

Mentioned in the 1972 Perris book.

His entry in the Athens digital phonebook still appears (2009). The glass business, however, no longer exists. Under the same name, same ddress, same phone number the entry now says "Elevators".

An account containing $360,412 in his name is held by HSBC's Geneva branch (2010). The account is included in the Lagarde list, a spreadsheet containing roughly 2,000 potential tax evaders with undeclared accounts.

Alexander married Antigone (Constantine) Papaioannou on 24 Aug 1931 in Athens, Attica, Greece. Antigone (daughter of Constantine Papaioannou and Eleni Giorgiou) was born on 11 Feb 1911 in Athens, Attica, Greece; died on 25 Dec 2005 in [Greece]. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
