n 1873 Theodore Rodocannachi owned several properties in Odessa (Teatr St., Kazarinennyi St., suburbs), Russia, assessed at 82,500 rubles.

Th P Rodocanachi, Odessa, was a donating member, Association for the Encouragement of Greek Studies, Paris, France.

He served as founding president of the GBAO - Greek Benevolent Association of Odessa's Greek commuinity - and was an influence in various of the city's religious, educational and philanthropic activities for Greeks. His financial support resulted in the eponymous naming of the Rodokanakio Greek School for Girls and Kindergarten (1875).

Died:
His 10-page will, in Russian, which is kept in the State Archive of Odessa, left the bulk of his estate to his surviving son. Kardasis comments: "His displeasure with the first daughter of the family is obvious. Was this an old quarrel? Fear of squandering the inheritance on unsound economic ventures by the family of P. Agelasto and Iphigenia Rodocanachi? According to the letter of the will, Pericles gained most. All the property (plots of land, houses, bills of exchange, bonds, and cash) were bequeathed to him. In this way Theodoros affirmed the traditional concept of transferring the property to the son in order to secure the continuity of the family..."

Acting on his mother's behalf, George arranged for the sale of the family estate Casa Mavrocordat to the Ministry of Defense, Romania, for around 1934 for 1,500,000 lei.

"After his father's death (1939), George became the administrator of Vaslui estate, while his mother established in southern France, in Nice. In 1948, after communism had been installed in Romania, George, already divorced from his wife, intended to go in France, to his mother. The authorities didn't allow him to leave Romania, on the basis of the reason described within the report on George Mavrocordat made in that year by a Security agent, who wrote 'we have to be vigilant and don't facilitate the leaving abroad of a person capable to make connections between the opponents of the regime in the country and the ones abroad' (National Archives in Vaslui, Vaslui Security Service collection, file 6/1948, pages 126-128). George never left the country, worked as a worker in his own brick factory which had been confiscated in 1948, and died in the winter of 1963, poor and alone, buried in Eternitatea cemetery in Vaslui without a funeral stone, because Mavrocordat family has no funeral crypt in Vaslui; that is why his burial place is lost."
