    He was partners with Thomas William Fry in Fry and Scaramanga, Grain Brokers, 34 Great St. Helen's, London, until it dissolved 31 Dec 1898 (London Gazette 30 Dec 1898).

    He co-administered his mother's estate.

    The 1901 England Census reports the Scaramanga household at Tiltwood House, Crawley Down, Sussex included: Elisa Scaramanga, head, 58, widow; children Marigo, 38, both born London; Ambrose, 31, shipowner; Calliope, 29; John, 32, shipowner, his wife Louise (born Russia, British subject), 26, their sons George, 3, and James, 2, both born Sussex; 5 domestic servants.

    The 1881 England Census reports finds Ambrose G. Scaramanga, 11, born Sussex, a boarding student at 2 Cheam Schools, Surrey.
