A Zermati might have received the Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur, 31 Dec 1918. The Marseille 1898 directory lists J Zermati & M. Mamain, commission naires, rue Republic 33.

He and his wife, both French citizens, are registered in the State Archives of Geneva as crossing into Switzerland during WW II. Nationality and date of birth are given.

Occupation: banker

During WW II, as a Jew he was hidden by Madame Raymond Segond. In appreciation he gave her a diamond, which was later given to her sister-in-law.

Georges married Marie (Theodore) Agelasto on 03 Jun 1926 in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. Marie (daughter of Theodore (Pandia) Agelasto and Wilhelme Caroline Auguste (Gustav) Wachenhusen) was born on 25 Oct 1896 in quartier d'Endoume, Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur,France; died on 07 Mar 1992 in rue d'Iena 21, Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur,France.
