    • According to David Calvocoressi and his father Peter, Matthew was briefly taken into slavery and was either redeemed or escaped following the Massacres of Chios. Argenti records his mother as Angerou (no surname).
    • According to Matthew, recorded by his grandson Pantias (John) Calvocoressi some 60 years later, Matthew was about 15 years old in 1822 and referred to a half-brother Pandely and younger siblings: Mavroudi, Zambelou, Zorzis and Argentou.
    • He, his son Leonidas Matthew Calvocoressi and Ambrose Paul Rodocanachi traded as merchants, at 95 Bishopsgate Street, London, as L. Rodocanachi and Co.; and at Constantinople, as M. Z. Calvocoressi, until dissolved 15 Mar 1885 (London Gazette 2 Jun 1885)
