I had always known they were cousins from stories my grandmother told me (they essentially met and fell in love before they found out about their relationship as Isabella lived in Athens and Antonis was visiting from Constantinople at the time).

Paul Th Negroponte, 65, merchant, was on the voter list for Syros, 1869.
Paul Negroponte, not working, male, parent, appears on the 1860 Syros census.
22 Nov 1838: Paul Th. Negroponte, 35, unmarried, born Chios, arrived Syros 1830, merchant, swore allegiance to the Greek government at the town hall, Ermoupolis.
