    He is included in Christopher Long's Maximo tree as the father of Marigo (John) Maximo but unlinked to others.

    He might be the younger brother of Nicholas Constantine Maximos, born in Greece abt 1836, who lived in the UK, first as a lodger in 1861, then with his elderly father Constantine, born 1795 Greece, in 1871, and later with his wife, Henrietta in 1881. Nicholas, a merchant, 7 Croxteth Grove, Toxteth Park, Lancs & 21 Alexandra Building, Ormond St., Liverpool, received a US patent for a grain drying invention; he was declared bankrupt in 1883 and 1887.

    Argenti says Maximo but he himself used Maximos.

    He attended the 5 Feb 1893 wedding of E. Pilalas and Catherine Elesteropoulo at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, W 53d St., New York City, along with Michel Agelasto, Theodore P. and Mrs. Ralli, and P.P. Negreponte.

    J. Maximos attended the Jun 1911 funeral of George Ralli.

    Maximos Brothers and Maximo & Damiano were among the two dozen Liverpool merchant enterprises which signed a letter stating how they would deal with, as importers of Egyptian cotton, regulations concerning bagging that put "unnecessary burden on the trade" (Manchester Guardian, 29 Jul 1870, p 2).
