    Notes:

    Identified as Jacques Damala's younger sister by American author and journalist Frank Harris in his autobiography My Life and Loves, Chapter VI: Love in Athens, p. 282 ff. "Harris had met the Damala family in the summer of 1880, when they were all residents at the Hotel d'Athènes, in Athens. Harris and Eirene Damala (referred to in the book as "Mme M.") had a brief romantic/sexual affair, which Harris describes very graphically in his book. Eirene was estranged from her Scottish husband, who had left her and returned to England. Harris also befriended Aristides Damala and the two became even closer friends when they met again in Paris, some time later." (wikipedia).

    Member of the Executive Committee which attempted the liberation of Chios in 1827. Grand Officer of the Order of the Saviour, Greece. Lived on Syros and at Piraeus.

    Committed to improving the educational system and opened the first Boy's grammar school in Piraeus. Wrote to Constantine Ionides in London asking for help with these projects.

    He is likely to have signed a letter to the provisory Greek Parliament in 1825 demanding it include a Chiot deputy.

    Lucas Ralli was among the 327 Chiot refugees in Syros who signed a letter dated 10 Jul 1829 to the Governor of Greece.
