    C. T .Rodocanachi was among the two dozen Liverpool merchant enterprises which signed a letter stating how they would deal with, as importers of Egyptian cotton, regulations concerning bagging that put "unnecessary burden on the trade" (Manchester Guardian, 29 Jul 1870, p 2).
