Alexandroff, 44, merchant, born Smyrna, naturalized British subject; wife Catina, 35, born Syros, Greece; sons John, 14, and Andreas, 11, both born Broughton, Lancashire and Olympia Aslan, mother-in-law, widowed, 54; Anna Paleologo, grandmother-in-law, widow, 71, both born Smyrna.

    Mr. A. Alexandroff attended the funeral of Stavros Jacobos Negroponte (Manchester Guardian 11 May 1886, p 5).

    Law case, 1868, London: A.V. Alexandroff v. Estate of decd. J. Aslan.

    A.N. Alexandroff and his wife Catherine were involved in litigation concerning the estate of her uncle Temistocles Aslan, merchant, who died 29 Mar 1867, Cairo. The principle beneficiary was his widow Cariclia; this was also contested by the deceased's brother, Sophocles.

    Alexandros Alexandrof was buried in the Anglican churchyard at Prestwich, nr. Manchester, 1899.

    Died:
    Through his will, dated 4 Dec 1886, with a codicil of 28 Jan 1898, he "bequeathed to his wife £20,000, his household effects, and the use and enjoyment during her life of the Sedgley Mount estate, and, subject to her best interest in trust for his son John. Excepting a bequest of £500 to his sister, Calliope Canischeri, he left his rosiduary estate in trust, in equal shares, for his two sons" - John and Andreas. Valued at £32,411 4s 10d gross, including personalty of the net value of £28,385 ?s" (Manchester Times 4 Aug 1899; Liverpool Mercury 1 Aug 1899).
