As recalled by his grandson, Linos: "My grandfather, Pierre Scaramanga, spent the last 8 years of his life in, I believe, Prangins...He passed away in, I think, 1981 and if I recall correctly they had taken him from the institution in Prangins (Switzerland) to the hospital. I assume it was the hospital in Nyon.

The date, 01 Jul 1867, given by Argenti, is likely wrong. The Oath of Allegiance of Eustratios I. Scaramanga suggests birth abt 1874, Marseille. No record was found in the Marseille register index. His grandson confirms that Pierre was the eldest of the five children.
