Obituary in the Toronto Globe and Mail, 5 May 2015 and the Ottawa Citizen, 4 May 2015:

Born in Glace Bay, N.S., in 1930, Dorothy died peacefully in Victoria, B. C., on May 3, after a lengthy illness. Sadly predeceased by husband John Rodocanachi, daughter Genipher (Chris Gehlen) and son Andrew. Survived by daughters Susan and Zoë; grandson Noah (Krista) and great-grandchildren Cedar and Orion; sisters Arlene and Betty Jane and brother Roddy, and their families. Dorothy earned her law degree at Dalhousie University and returned to the law after raising her family in Halifax, Ottawa and Victoria, following John in his naval career. She was much loved and respected in her working life, and when she retired from her career as a legislative drafter in 1995, her colleagues drafted the Enjoyment of Life Act - Happy Retirement Regulations in a tribute to Dorothy, which stipulated, under 5 (f), that she continue to 'inspire and amuse her circle of friends with, and to encourage the improvement of organizations and institutions by, her witty and wry comments, suggestions and observations on just about everything.' This is how she should be remembered. There will be no service. In memoriam, donations to the Canadian Alzheimer's Association would be greatly appreciated.
