    A.N. Alexandroff and his wife Catherine were involved in litigation concerning the estate of her uncle Temistocles Aslan, merchant, who died 29 Mar 1867, Cairo. The principle beneficiary was his widow Cariclia; this was also contested by the deceased's brother, Sophocles.

    Through his will, dated 4 Dec 1886, with a codicil of 28 Jan 1898, he "bequeathed to his wife £20,000, his household effects, and the use and enjoyment during her life of the Sedgley Mount estate, and, subject to her best interest in trust for his son John. Excepting a bequest of £500 to his sister, Calliope Canischeri, he left his rosiduary estate in trust, in equal shares, for his two sons" - John and Andreas.
