Sources mention the Greek area of Ramleh, five or six miles east of Alexandria where two major churches were located: The Church of the Prophet Elias and the Church of St. Stephanos; Greeks are said to have also lived in the the neighbourhood of Giannakles. Ramleh is the name of the Alexandria train station. It is also a district in the old town, off Saad Zaghloul Street.
