    • They all escaped from a burning Smyrna in fishing boats not knowing if the other was alive, according to her sister’s God-child. She marriedthe much younger man who rescued her, and they lived in the mountains in Crete. He was a communist, much to the family's horror, and her husband eventually left her for a younger girl in Skyros, according to her sister’s God-child, Carolyn Agelasto Hughes.
