    • "An early twentieth-century (1908) listed monument belongs to John S. Schilizzi (1840-1908) and his wife Virginia (1849-1927), née Sechiaris and mother of Helena Venizelos. The monument (TQ 3272 32/1122), situated near the west corner of the burial ground, consists of a sarcophagus with a female statue. A pink granite base supports the veined marble sarcophagus, both of which bear the names of the deceased. The sarcophagus is topped with a white marble female figure, half nude with flowing robes and veiled, abandoning herself to grief. To the rear, pink granite steps lead down to the vault."

    • His 1908 family tomb at West Norwood Cemetery is an English Heritage listed monument (1981). A John Schilizzi donated a mosaic to decorate the conch of the main apse of St Sophia church in Bayswater, London. Commander of the Order of The Saviour.
    • Appears to have been known as Stephanovich-Schilizzi. Lived in London. Involved in the building of St Stephen Church in Paris. In 1870, with two of his brothers, he gave a hanging lamp to St Sophia Church, London. He left estate of £2,089,000.
    • He is probably the John Stephen Schilizzi involved in the partnership businesses in 1860 that also included James Constantine Negroponte, [perhaps Jean (Constantine) Negroponte], Emmanuel Halduvacchi, Leonidas Vernudacchi, John Vaffiadacclii, Zanni Stef. Schilizzi, Michael Pantaleone Mavrogordato, Ambrosia Michele Cappati, Ipatias Vernudacchi & M. F. Paspatti. The firms involved included Schilizzi & Co., at London, Manchester and Calcutta; Schilizzi & Vaffiadacchi, Leghorn, Z. Stefanovich & Co., Constantinople; A.M. Cappari, Taganrog; and Ypatio Vernudacchi, Rostoff (London Gazette 7 Jun 1861).
    • With his brothers Demetrius Stefanovich Schilizzi and Paul Stefanovich Schilizzi he was a partner as foreign banker in the firm Schilizzi Brothers, 25 Austin Friars, London until it was dissolved 31 Mar 1889 (London Gazette 17 May 1889).
    • He was a partner with his brothers D. Stef. Schilizzi and Paul Stefanovich Schilizzi., Paul John Schilizzi, Aristides George Caridia and Pericles Z. Amiro in Schilizzi and Co., Merchants, at London, Manchester, and Calcutta, until it was dissolved 31 Dec 1872. (London Gazette 28 Feb 1873).
