“Chios – Ermoupolis” - A speech by A. Markoulis, Vice-chairman of the Ermoupolis Community Council, given 26 May 1988 at the Cultural Centre of Ermoupolis during the celebrations for the sister-city arrangement between Chios Town and Ermoupolis. It is in the collection of the Syros Public Library.

It is a very interesting document with a detailed description of the role Chiots played in the history and economy of Syros, especially Ermoupolis. Ralli, Negroponte, Mavrogordato, Petrococchino, Rodocanacchi, Schilizzi and many other “noble” Chiots are mentioned several times - but not a single mention of Agelasto. What a shame!
