    As an illustration of family marriage interweaving among Chiot merchant families: Lucas Eustratios Ralli married Eugenie Argenti "who is in reality was his cousin because on her side, Julie, daughter of Auguste (brother of Eustratios), would marry Leonidas Argenti (father of Eugenie). [In other words, Eugenie’s mother is the niece of her husband’s father, implying that her husband is a generation older than she.]
