No arrival date on Syros is given, suggesting that he was born on the island and that Chios is his family's origin, not his place of birth. The following entry on the list, sharing the same ID number, is for Leonidas A. Agelasto, presumably his older brother.

The 1851 England census reports A.L. Agelasto, 45, married, cotton fabric merchant, born Turkey, lodging at 101 Bury New Road, Salford, Manchester. A co-lodger is J.P. Schilizzi, Jr., 29, unmarried, perhaps Jean (Pandely) Schilizzi b. 1818.
19 Jun 1845: Ambrosios L. Agelasto, 34, married, born Chios, arrived Syros 1843, merchant, swore allegiance to the Greek government at the Greek embassy, Constantinople.
