    Theseas Efthymiouhis concerning his ancestors (2024): Julia Negroponte and Isabella Negroponte were sisters and their grandchildren, Antonia Sxoinas and Isabella Christodulidi were married with permission from the then religious authorities.

    I had always known they were cousins from stories my grandmother told me (they essentially met and fell in love before they found out about their relationship as Isabella lived in Athens and Antonis was visiting from Constantinople at the time).

    22 Nov 1838: Paul Th. Negroponte, 35, unmarried, born Chios, arrived Syros 1830, merchant, swore allegiance to the Greek government at the town hall, Ermoupolis.

    P. Th. Negroponte, Iasi, Romania, is listed among the diaspora Greeks donating 300 [Ottoman pounds] to a fund for the Thebes earthquake in 1853.

    He was alive on Syros in order to register to vote in 1869. Argenti says he died 1859.
